Ezra Maureen Lubang Jaring: Building Institutions Through Integrity, Governance, and Purpose

Redefining leadership through accountability, governance, and a commitment to institutional excellence

Leadership is often measured by growth and achievement, but lasting success is built on integrity, accountability, and trust. For Ezra Maureen Lubang Jaring, Vice President of the Board and Head of Internal Audit at Vision Credit & Collection Services Inc. (VCCSI), leadership is about creating strong institutions where governance, ethical decision-making, and operational excellence work together to support sustainable growth.

Throughout her career, Ezra has combined entrepreneurial experience, international education, and executive leadership to build a strong foundation in governance, internal audit, and risk management. Her approach reflects the belief that organizations achieve long-term success not only through vision, but also through disciplined systems, responsible leadership, and a culture of accountability.

An Entrepreneurial Beginning

Ezra’s professional journey began at the age of 21 when she established her first business. The experience introduced her to the realities of entrepreneurship and taught her that ambition alone is not enough to build a successful organization. Sustainable growth requires discipline, structure, accountability, and sound decision-making.

Just two years later, she became a Director for an international company, gaining valuable exposure to global operations, cross-border decision-making, and institutional leadership. These early experiences broadened her understanding of governance and reinforced the importance of protecting organizational trust while pursuing business growth.

They also shaped the leadership philosophy that continues to guide her today—that leadership is not defined simply by authority or expansion, but by stewardship, responsibility, and the ability to create institutions that remain resilient over time.

This perspective naturally led her toward a career in internal audit, governance, and risk management.

For Ezra, an internal audit is not a function focused on identifying faults. Instead, it serves as a strategic discipline that strengthens transparency, reinforces accountability, improves operational effectiveness, and supports better organizational decision-making. Governance and risk management, in her view, provide the framework that enables organizations to grow responsibly while maintaining the confidence of their stakeholders.

Learning Through a Global Perspective

Ezra’s practical experience has been complemented by an extensive academic journey across several countries. She earned her Master’s in Global Entrepreneurial Management through Institut Químic de Sarrià and Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, Spain, Fu Jen Catholic University in Taipei, Taiwan, and the University of San Francisco in California, USA.

Her professional development was further strengthened through executive education and training with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the United States Congress, the United Nations, and Johns Hopkins University. These experiences expanded her understanding of economic governance, institutional accountability, policy development, and global leadership.

One of the most significant milestones in her academic journey was the reservation of her Master’s dissertation at the National Central Library of Taiwan, recognizing the scholarly merit and international relevance of her research.

Beyond academia, Ezra has also provided business consultation for organizations based in New York and Singapore, contributing strategic insights on enterprise development, market positioning, and cross-border business initiatives. These engagements have strengthened her ability to approach governance from both strategic and operational perspectives.

A Leadership Philosophy Built on Governance

Over the years, Ezra has developed a leadership philosophy grounded in integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

She believes that organizations achieve sustainable success when governance becomes part of everyday decision-making rather than simply a regulatory requirement. Strong systems, ethical leadership, effective internal controls, and responsible risk management create the foundation for institutions that can adapt to change while maintaining stakeholder trust.

This philosophy also shapes her approach to leadership. Rather than viewing governance as a limitation, she sees it as an enabler of responsible growth and long-term organizational resilience. Every decision should strengthen transparency, encourage accountability, and contribute to meaningful institutional progress.

For Ezra, leadership is ultimately measured not by titles or recognition, but by the ability to build organizations that operate with integrity, earn trust, and create lasting value. That commitment continues to guide her work and remains the foundation of her professional journey.

Driving Governance and Organizational Excellence

Today, as Vice President of the Board and Head of Internal Audit at Vision Credit & Collection Services Inc. (VCCSI), Ezra plays a key role in ensuring that the organization’s growth remains guided by integrity, compliance, and institutional discipline.

Her responsibilities include strengthening governance frameworks, evaluating internal controls, identifying operational risks, and reinforcing accountability across the organization. Beyond ensuring compliance, she works to cultivate an environment where transparency, ethical decision-making, and continuous improvement become part of the organizational culture.

For Ezra, internal audit is more than a control function. She sees it as a strategic force that protects institutional trust, strengthens systems, and supports sustainable organizational excellence. In this role, she continues to push boundaries for the better by promoting transparency, ethical execution, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Vision Credit & Collection Services Inc.: Delivering Trust Through Responsible Service

Vision Credit & Collection Services Inc. is a service-driven organization specializing in credit and collection services, repossession services, skip tracing, and credit investigation. Supporting banking institutions, government agencies, and other industry partners, the company plays an important role in the financial ecosystem by providing responsible recovery solutions and intelligence-driven account management.

According to Ezra, what distinguishes VCCSI is its people-first approach. While performance remains essential, the organization believes that sustainable results are built through communication, understanding, respect, and trust. This commitment is reflected in its focus on ethical service, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

The company’s objective is not only to deliver effective outcomes but also to ensure that every engagement is guided by integrity, accountability, and professionalism.

Building a Culture of Governance and Accountability

Ezra believes that effective governance begins with clarity, consistency, and accountability throughout the organization.

She works to strengthen governance by reinforcing internal controls, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring that risks are identified and addressed proactively. For her, governance is not limited to policies and procedures—it is reflected in how decisions are made, how responsibilities are carried out, and how organizations uphold their commitments.

A strong governance framework also depends on open communication and ethical leadership. By encouraging transparency and shared accountability, VCCSI continues to protect institutional credibility while supporting sustainable business growth.

This disciplined approach enables the organization to respond confidently to changing business conditions while maintaining the trust of clients, stakeholders, and partners.

Leveraging Technology for Better Governance

Technology has become an important enabler of effective governance and risk management. At VCCSI, digital tools and data-driven monitoring are being integrated into audit processes to improve efficiency, strengthen reporting, and enhance risk identification.

These initiatives allow the organization to identify potential issues earlier, improve documentation, and support more informed decision-making across business functions.

For Ezra, however, innovation is not measured solely by automation. It is equally about strengthening governance, supporting responsible leadership, and creating long-term institutional value.

This balanced approach allows technology to improve operational efficiency while reinforcing transparency, accountability, and compliance.

Embedding ESG into Business Operations

Alongside digital transformation, VCCSI has incorporated Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its approach to risk management and operational performance.

Rather than treating ESG as a separate initiative, the organization integrates responsible business practices into its governance framework and day-to-day operations.

This commitment is reflected through paperless operations, tree-planting initiatives, and corporate social responsibility programs that create positive environmental and community impact while supporting responsible business growth.

For Ezra, sustainability is closely connected with governance. Organizations create long-term value when operational excellence is supported by responsible decision-making, ethical leadership, and a commitment to serving both stakeholders and the wider community.

Empowering People Through Leadership

Ezra describes her leadership style as one built on empowerment, clarity, and high standards.

She believes that leadership is about creating an environment where people have confidence, direction, and opportunity to perform at their best. Rather than simply managing teams, she focuses on developing individuals who are prepared to take ownership of their responsibilities and contribute to organizational success.

She believes communication should be clear, purposeful, and aligned with a shared vision, helping strengthen accountability and create momentum across the organization. By recognizing potential, developing capability, and encouraging ownership, she strives to build professionals who are confident, capable, and committed to meaningful results.

Her objective is to develop professionals who are confident, capable, and committed to delivering meaningful results while upholding the organization’s values.

Preparing Organizations for a Changing Business Environment

According to Ezra, one of the greatest risks organizations face today is the inability to adapt to change.

Rapid technological developments, evolving regulations, and increasing operational complexity require organizations to remain agile while maintaining strong governance and effective risk management practices.

She believes that resilience is built through proactive planning rather than reactive decision-making. Strong business continuity strategies, comprehensive risk frameworks, and a culture of preparedness enable organizations to respond effectively to operational, financial, regulatory, technological, and reputational challenges.

Organizations that can adapt while maintaining discipline and accountability are better positioned to protect their people, sustain operations, and continue creating value even during periods of uncertainty.

Looking Ahead

Over the next five years, Ezra expects the financial services, credit, and collections industry to be shaped by continued technological advancement alongside increasingly rigorous regulatory requirements.

Automation, data analytics, and digital platforms will continue improving operational efficiency, while stronger compliance expectations will place greater emphasis on transparency, accountability, and consumer protection.

She believes organizations that invest in innovation while maintaining strong governance and ethical business practices will be best positioned for long-term success. By balancing digital transformation with responsible leadership, institutions can remain resilient, competitive, and trusted in an increasingly complex business environment.

Recognition Earned Through Excellence

Throughout her career, Ezra has received several recognitions that reflect her commitment to leadership, governance, and professional excellence. These milestones represent not only personal achievements but also her dedication to integrity, accountability, and continuous learning.

Her recognitions include two Certificates of Commendation from the Bureau of Customs in May and November 2017, a Certificate of Recognition from Dr. Kai Huang-Ping in April 2020, and a Certificate of Appreciation from the ASEAN University Network for her valuable contributions.

Internationally, she was recognized by the International Credit Exchange as Best Newcomer 2024 and Best Communicator 2025. In April 2025, she was named a Fintech Visionary Leader 25 Awardee by the Fintech Revolution Summit, recognizing her contributions to governance and innovation within the financial services sector. In 2026, she received the Global Executive Leadership – CEO & Executive Leadership Award in Hong Kong and was honored among the Top 50 Femme X Leaders during the Collection Industry Award in Phuket, Thailand.

Equally meaningful to her are the accomplishments of Vision Credit & Collection Services Inc. The company has earned multiple recognitions from leading banking institutions, government agencies in the Philippines, and international banks, including those from Dubai, reflecting its nationwide performance, compliance discipline, operational excellence, and institutional trust, reflecting its nationwide performance, compliance discipline, operational excellence, and the trust it has built with clients and stakeholders.

For Ezra, these recognitions reinforce the importance of maintaining high standards while continuously striving for meaningful and sustainable impact.

Guiding the Next Generation of Leaders

As a senior leader in governance and internal audit, Ezra encourages aspiring professionals to build their careers on integrity before ambition.

She believes credibility is the strongest asset a leader can possess, and it is earned through discipline, consistency, ethical judgment, and accountability. Technical expertise remains essential, but lasting leadership also requires clear communication, continuous learning, and the courage to uphold professional standards even when faced with difficult decisions.

Her advice is straightforward: remain committed to excellence, never compromise your values for short-term recognition, and remember that sustainable leadership is built through trust and principled action.

Every Experience Shapes the Journey

When reflecting on her career, Ezra does not focus on what she would have done differently. Instead, she believes that every stage of her professional journey has contributed to her growth as a leader.

Building a business at a young age, leading within international organizations, pursuing global education, and serving in governance and internal audit have each strengthened her judgment, resilience, and perspective.

Rather than viewing challenges as setbacks, she sees them as opportunities to learn, adapt, and improve. For her, leadership is a continuous process of growth, responsibility, and purposeful action.

Looking Toward the Future

Ezra’s vision for the future is centered on strengthening Vision Credit & Collection Services Inc. as an organization recognized for trust, innovation, compliance, and sustainable excellence.

She aims to continue enhancing governance frameworks, supporting digital transformation, expanding the company’s people-first culture, and creating measurable value across the financial ecosystem it serves.

On a personal level, she remains committed to developing future leaders, strengthening institutions, and contributing to organizations that operate with integrity and accountability. Her aspiration is to continue making a meaningful impact through responsible leadership while helping build organizations that are resilient, ethical, and prepared for the future.

Leadership Rooted in Integrity

Throughout her journey, one principle has remained constant: leadership begins with integrity.

For Ezra, governance is not simply about compliance, and internal audit is not limited to oversight. Together, they provide a structure that enables organizations to earn trust, manage risk responsibly, and pursue sustainable growth.

As the business environment continues to evolve, she believes organizations will succeed by balancing innovation with accountability, embracing change without losing sight of ethical leadership, and investing in people alongside systems and technology.

Ezra believes that success becomes meaningful only when it is built on values that can withstand scrutiny. For her, integrity remains the foundation of credible leadership, sustainable relationships, and lasting impact. Her guiding principle—lead with integrity, remain committed to compliance, and be dedicated to trust—continues to shape her leadership journey as she works to strengthen institutions, develop future leaders, and create lasting value through responsible leadership.
